5 Places Worth Adding to Your 2027 Touring List

5 places worth adding to your 2027 touring list

They may not be cheap, but you all said they were worth it.

We asked the caravan and motorhome facebook groups one simple question: where's the most expensive site you've ever pitched up, and was it worth it? Over 100 of you answered. There were a few horror stories (a £140 pitch with someone else already parked on it, anyone? 😬), but a handful of sites kept coming up for all the right reasons.

Here are the five that had people saying "worth every penny", plus a bonus one for anyone fancying a hop across the Channel. Swipe through the photos and start building your 2027 wish list.

1. Portmeirion Motorhome Park, Gwynedd, North Wales

What you said: "Portmeirion… worth every penny."

You pitch up in the grounds of the famous Italianate village itself, on the edge of Eryri (Snowdonia). The big draw? Entry to the village is included in your pitch price, so you can wander the colourful streets in the evening once the day visitors have gone home.

  • Pitches: all hardstanding with electric, water, TV hook-up and Wi-Fi, from around 5.5m to 8m long
  • On site: heated outdoor pool (April to September), bar, restaurant/café, shop, laundry and drying room
  • From: around £55–£75 a night for two, depending on pitch size and dates
  • Season: March to October
  • Good to know: it's motorhomes only, with no dogs or barbecues

2. Seafield Park, Seahouses, Northumberland

What you said: "Beautiful views and well worth the extra." "Use of pool, sauna, steam room on site. Great shower block." "My favourite place, go every year."

This one got the most "worth it" votes of the lot. Seafield sits right next to Seahouses harbour, and many pitches look out to the Farne Islands or Bamburgh Castle. Not a bad view with your morning cuppa.

  • Pitches: fully serviced "Super Pitches" for tourers (hardstanding, water, electric, drainage), plus motorhome pitches
  • On site: Ocean Club leisure centre with indoor pool and fitness suite, café and takeaway
  • What it cost you: around £60 a night in summer
  • Nearby: boat trips to the Farne Islands from the harbour, Bamburgh Castle (under 3 miles) and Lindisfarne (under 8 miles)
  • Good to know: no bar or evening entertainment, on purpose, so it suits a quieter break

3. Concierge Camping, near Chichester, West Sussex

What you said: "Well over £100 per night for an Emperor pitch. Worth every penny!" "Expensive but worth it for a chill out." "Fantastic site, will be there for Xmas again!"

Concierge Camping is a small, high-end site and a former England Campsite of the Year winner. People treat it as a special-occasion stay, and more than one of you heads back every Christmas.

  • Pitches: 27 fully serviced hardstandings, each with its own enclosed grass area and big enough for larger RVs
  • Emperor pitches: come with a day-living safari tent with log burner, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and TV
  • On site: bike and e-bike hire, laundry and a dog park (dogs welcome)
  • What it cost you: over £100 a night for an Emperor pitch, less for a standard serviced pitch
  • Nearby: Chichester around 5 miles, West Wittering beach around 6 miles, and the South Downs on the doorstep

4. Trevornick, Holywell Bay, Cornwall

What you said: "Trevornick, yes… been the last 5 years." "The best."

When someone goes back five summers running, that says a lot. Trevornick sits on the north Cornish coast overlooking Gull Rocks, with a footpath through the dunes down to Holywell Bay beach.

  • Pitches: grass or semi-hardstanding, up to Super Plus pitches with electric, water, grey waste and TV hook-up, plus dog-friendly options
  • On site: heated outdoor pool, Tranquillity Spa with jacuzzi and sauna, par 3 golf, fishing lakes, shop and seasonal entertainment
  • Nearby: Holywell Bay on foot, Newquay around 15 minutes' drive
  • Good to know: it's a big family park and gets busy in the school holidays, so book early for summer

5. Moody Meadows at Bargoed Farm, Ceredigion, West Wales

What you said: "Expensive but the place was mint, appreciated the hot tub cabin next to our pitch." "Totally agree. Expensive but worth it for a hot tub pitch."

A hot tub beside your pitch after a day on the Cardigan Bay coast? Yes please. Moody Meadows is a family-run site between Aberaeron and New Quay, and it's open all year.

  • Pitches: fully serviced hardstandings for caravans and motorhomes, some with their own private hot tub and some with lake views
  • Adults-only option: some pitches are adults only
  • On site: the Moody Cow bistro and bar, farm shop, play barn, launderette and dog wash
  • From: around £20 a night for a standard pitch, with hot tub pitches costing more
  • Nearby: Aberaeron's colourful harbour and New Quay's dolphin-spotting boat trips

Bonus: Camping du Letty, Bénodet, Brittany

Fancy jumping over to France? It's around 1½ hours' drive from the Brittany Ferries Roscoff crossing.

What you said: "Yes it was worth it, pitch was best on site… fully serviced with en-suite shower, toilet, washing up area and fridge." "Had service pitch with sea view. Absolutely stunning with the fastest natural lazy river."

Two of you named this 5-star site separately, and both said it was worth it. It sits right on Le Letty beach, opposite the Mer Blanche lagoon. When the tide runs in and out of the lagoon it creates the natural "lazy river" people rave about.

  • Privilege pitches: each has its own private shower, toilet and washing-up area, with room for big outfits and awnings
  • On site: indoor and outdoor pools, wellbeing area, restaurant, bar and shop
  • Getting there: sail Plymouth to Roscoff with Brittany Ferries, then it's around 72 miles (about 1½ hours) to Bénodet
  • Nearby: a coastal cycle path into Bénodet in under 10 minutes, and Quimper around 18km away
